When a contact clicks one of the three artwork buttons at the bottom of this email (Essential, Signature or Legacy), don’t just record the choice — also fire the matching next email in the sequence:
Send it 1 minute after the click, same as every other step in this flow. After that the sequence just continues as normal from email 4 onward. If nobody clicks anything here, email 4 still goes out on schedule — 1 day after the contact joined the list.
Each of the three buttons needs to update the contact’s lead status in Brevo and send them somewhere. None of these destinations exist yet — they still need to be built.
1) “Yes, still interested, let’s start now”
Point this button at the same link already used elsewhere in this flow for
“email me your photo to get started” (the mailto: link) —
no new landing page needed for the click itself. In the background, update the
contact’s lead-status attribute to something like “Interested –
contact now” so the click is tracked as sales-ready.
Also add a “notify team member by email” step to that
automation, triggered by the click itself, so Ruben gets an internal alert the moment
it happens, with the contact’s name, car and details attached. That’s
Brevo’s documented pattern for exactly this situation (an automation that emails
your team when a contact takes an action) and it’s what actually gets a reply out
quickly — relying on someone noticing the lead-status change manually is too slow
for a lead this warm.
2) “Yes, but the timing isn’t right yet, let’s pick this
up later”
Needs a new landing page: a short Brevo form asking 2–3 quick questions —
the occasion (birthday, anniversary, holidays, the car is leaving, etc.), the date if
known, and whether it’s for themselves or a gift. Keep it as short as possible.
In the background, update lead status to “Backburner – follow up
later”, so it’s clear this contact needs a follow-up closer to that
date.
3) “No, I’m no longer interested”
Needs a new, very simple page on the Shopify site: just a short confirmation that
they’re unsubscribed from this sequence and won’t be emailed about it
again. They stay on the general newsletter list — the regular unsubscribe link in
every email footer still covers that separately. In the background, update lead status
to “Lost – not interested”, so the lead reads as closed
without removing them from marketing altogether.
Why a lead-status attribute instead of lists: a
single custom contact attribute (for example LEAD_STATUS) is simpler to
keep in sync than juggling list membership, and it’s easy to filter and segment
on later. Brevo’s own guidance treats a status attribute plus an automatic team
notification as the standard way to hand a marketing lead to sales without needing a
full CRM deal pipeline. A deal per lead is a reasonable upgrade later if volume grows
enough to want a visual pipeline, but it isn’t needed to get this working now.
